Information governance courses
You might be working within an organisation that handles personal data, your job might require you to handle some of this data yourself, or you might simply have an interest surrounding information governance and the general security of your data. Either way, you’ll be sure to find our selection of 8 Information Governance courses both useful and interesting.
These courses will cover everything you need to know in order to safely, securely and correctly handle sensitive data as well as how to request certain sensitive information. Our e-training courses will cover a variety of topics, including Information Sharing and Consent, the Data Protection Act 1998, Freedom of Information 2000, Keeping Good Records, Information Security and more.
In order to stay informed, we offer a few courses outlining the current state of affairs when it comes to data protection and what you should know about them. This includes the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Data Protection Act 1998, (which will soon be replaced by the General Data Protection Regulation in 2018). The Data Protection Act has wide reaching implications for organisations all over the UK, both in the public or private sector. As an employee, it’s important to be aware of the implications involved in handling and processing personal, sensitive data as well as the impact of misusing or mishandling data. With this course, you’ll learn how to process and store sensitive data to ensure you’re taking the correct approach.
Our General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – Preparing for Change course will do just that – ensure you’re ready for the changes coming in May 2018. The course will cover the changes you’ll be required to make regarding how you are currently accessing and processing personal data in the UK. The two module course will provide you with the knowledge needed to understand the new regulations, and therefore avoid any confusion and especially and legal issues within your organisation. On the other hand, the Freedom of Information Act was created to provide a means of public access to authorities across the country. This e-training course will teach you who can make Freedom of Information requests, for what important and how the process works from start to finish.
The remaining courses cover a broader range of topics, but we think they’re just as important to take on. Courses like Keeping Good Records, Information Sharing and Consent, and Handling Information are all geared towards those working in health, social care and childcare and work together to provide basic training for different parts of the day-to-day knowledge needed to keep patient information secure, and utilise it correctly.
Our Information Governance course combines a few of the above topics into a bundle, providing you with a solid overview of the different legislation and principles surrounding data, information and sharing. The course will ensure those working with sensitive and personal data are aware of their responsibilities, and have a great understanding of how to work in accordance to the law. They’ll also learn how, when and to whom sensitive information can be given or withheld at any point in time.
